Sara is a very intelligent and interesting child. She knows more than what a typical child should know. She lived with her father in India and transferred to a Seminary for Young Ladies in London for education. Before her father left her, he bought her a doll to keep her company while he's away. Her father, Ralph Crewe, loved her very much, giving her everything she wanted. This child is very imaginative, and loves to tell stories. As the story progresses, a tragic event happens. Sara Crewe's rich father dies, and left no money for her. To be able to live in the seminary, she became a servant-girl, just like Becky. She was deprived of food, and was ordered to sleep in the attic. In order to bear all her sufferings, she pretended to be princess. Her strong character masked a soft heart. She always thought of other people before herself. She did not let the people who tried to oppress her bring her down, and that's what made this young girl special, despite her age, she had more awareness, understanding, and affection for the people around her.
